The protocol

The keloid is removed with ultra-CO2 excision and the site injected with steroid. Steroid injections continue at scheduled intervals afterwards — free of charge for the first three months after excision — and V-Beam is added at monthly intervals to control redness and recurrence. Consistent spacing matters more for keloids than for any other scar.

Earlobe keloids

Piercing keloids are among the most common cases and respond well to excision with follow-up; the clinic publishes long-term examples.

Will it come back?

Keloids recur if excised alone; the scheduled steroid and laser follow-up is what keeps recurrence down. The course is explained before excision.
